Nature is always changing its palette. The hills above the Hudson Valley in early summer, the coastal light at Busan at dusk, the mountainsides of Korea between seasons — color shows up differently depending on where you are and when. These pieces are an attempt to hold some of that.

Each Meridian is made using the nerikomi technique — colored stoneware clays are layered, pressed, cut, and reassembled so the pattern runs through the entire body of the piece, not just the surface. No two are alike. The Wildflowers palette draws on soft blues, sage greens, warm neutrals, and pops of lavender in a meadow mid-bloom.

The Meridian is a hand-formed stoneware serving piece with a long, gently tapered oval silhouette and a soft, rounded edge. Its elongated form makes it just as suited to fruit or cheese at the table as it is to catching jewelry, incense, and the small things that gather on a dresser.

Small: 10" x 5.5" x 0.5"

Food safe. Microwave safe. Handwash recommended. Each piece is one of a kind.

Frequently asked questions

Where are your pieces made?

Every piece is handmade by me in my studio in Beacon, New York.

I use the Japanese nerikomi technique, layering and marbling colored stoneware clays so the pattern runs through the entire piece—not just the surface. Because of this, no two pieces are ever exactly alike.

When will my order ship?

Ready-to-ship orders are packed within 2–4 business days.

Made-to-order pieces are crafted just for you and typically ship within 2–3 weeks.

You'll receive tracking information as soon as your order is on its way.

Are your pieces food/microwave safe?

Yes.

All tableware is made from food-safe stoneware and finished with a food-safe glaze. They're also microwave safe.

Hand washing is recommended to help preserve the finish for years to come.

What if my order arrives damaged?

If your order arrives damaged, please email me within 48 hours with photos of both the packaging and the piece.

I'll make it right with a replacement or refund.

Can I return my order?

Because each piece is handmade and one of a kind, I generally don't accept returns for change of mind.

If something isn't right with your order, please reach out—I'm always happy to help.

Do you take custom orders?

Yes!

I love creating pieces for restaurants, gifts, weddings, and custom home collections.

Feel free to get in touch to discuss your idea.

Do you have a physical shop?

Not yet.

You can find me at select markets throughout the Hudson Valley, local workshops, and online here at Flint and Marble.

What is Nerikomi?

Nerikomi is a Japanese ceramic technique where colored clays are layered, pressed, cut, and reassembled before a piece is formed.

Instead of painting color onto the surface, the pattern exists throughout the clay itself—making every piece completely unique.
