Frequently asked questions
How long until my piece ships?
Every piece is made to order and ships in 4–5 weeks.
For delivery before the holidays, order by Nov 15.
How do I care for my pieces?
Every piece is food safe and microwave safe. Hand washing preferred.
What is nerikomi?
Nerikomi is a way of building with colored clay rather than painting color onto the surface. Colored clays are layered, folded, and pressed into porcelain, so the pattern runs all the way through.
The name is Japanese; in Korea, where I learned it, it's called yeonrimun. Because every pattern is built by hand, no two pieces are alike.
Do you take custom or larger orders?
Yes. I work with restaurants, shops, designers, and homeowners on custom palettes and larger orders. Email hello@flintandmarble.com to start a conversation.
Will my piece look like the photos?
Close, but not exactly. Each piece is its own version of the palette you choose, which is part of what makes it one of a kind.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Email hello@flintandmarble.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos of the piece and packaging.
I'll replace it or refund you.
Can I return my order?
Because every piece is handmade and one of a kind, I don't accept returns for change of mind. If something isn't right, please reach out. I'll always do my best to make it right.
Do you have a physical shop?
I don't have a storefront, but studio visits in Beacon are available by appointment.
